TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

Published Friday, November 7, 2014 by YFD

If you have dental insurance through your employer, or independently, time may be running out!
Many insurance plans provide an annual benefit, for example $1000.  If you have not utilized this total benefit and you have outstanding dental work, you are leaving money on the table.

Here is a list of dental related services and expenses that may qualify for insurance coverage:
Fillings, Crowns, Bridges, Root Canals, Partial Dentures and Periodontal Therapy.  Many plans even provide preventative dental care such as routine dental cleaning with exam and x-rays twice per year at no or minimal cost to you.

I have $1000 dental insurance benefit, but I have only used $255.  Will my insurance benefits balance rollover for next year?
No.  Typically dental insurance companies provide a coverage limit that gets renewed each calendar year, but it does not accumulate or roll over to the next year.   I would recommend you utilize these remaining benefits for any unfinished dental work you have been “putting off”.

Can I use my remaining FSA balance for dental procedures?
Yes. A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is pre-tax dollars that can be used on a variety of medical expenses including dental care.  Some plans require the money you contribute to be spent by December 31, or you risk losing it.   Now is a good time to replace that missing tooth with a dental implant or partial.

Can I make payments on my portion of the dental bill?
Yes.  Completing necessary dental work in a timely manor is one of our main goals.  We want you to maintain a healthy mouth for your overall healthy body, so we offer a variety of payment options.  At Yorktown Family Dentistry we offer CitiHealth and CareCredit as well as In-House financing to help meet your financial goals.

Juggling the cold winter weather, holiday parties, shopping and school plays is fun, but adding a dental appointment into that schedule becomes tasking. Think ahead and schedule now.
